Tuscan light - Bas Meelker Landscape and Wildlife Photography

On October 1 and 2,  the Zoom.nl Campus took place. It is the largest photography event of The Netherlands, organized by the Dutch-based Zoom.nl Magazine.

800 participants of the Zoom.nl Campus visited Bas's seminars on nature- and landscape photography. All his four seminars were sold out! Afterwards many people visited the book signing sessions to meet Bas in person and let him sign his latest book 'Focus op Fotografie: Landschap en architectuur (translated: Focus on Photography: landscape and architecture).

Bas: "It's awesome to talk about my passion for so many people. And to see them all so enthusiastic. Many thanks to the organization of Zoom.nl Campus and also to the people of Van Duuren Media and Kamera Express for organizing the book signing sessions! You all did a great job!"

Tips nature photography

Grand Canyon - Bas Meelker Landschapsfotografie en NatuurfotografieThe best times for nature- and landscapephotography are in the early hours of the morning, just before sunrise and the last hours of the evening, just after sunset. At these times the light is often at it's best. This is also true for wildlife photography as most wildlife is still active at these hours. I prefer getting out there as early as possible when all is quiet and still dark. Nothing beats a spectacular sunrise! For landscape photography I always make sure I am at least one hour before sunrise at my location. When the first people walking their dogs appear, it's time to call it a day!
